Many, many years ago Barbara started to make pictures and drawings to express her feelings and thoughts about having grown up during World War II.
Making art nourishes and heals the soul, it allows us to search for similarities with others and possibly discover some universal truths of why things are the way they are, and our part in the song of life. In the past, as well as today, it is often enough for Barbara to immerse herself in the process of making art. Being creative brings her peace of mind.
Eventually some materials appealed to Barbara more than others; today she uses acrylic on canvas for her paintings, dry pastels and oil pastels for her drawings on paper, and mixed media for making masks.
Barbara has studied to become a nurse, energy healer and shamanic practioner. Today she uses her art not only for self-growth, but equally as much to be a catalyst for other human beings to find their healing path.
Her studies have brought Barbara to many wondrous sacred places. In time she developed a keen interest in capturing what seemed to her the healing light emanating from these places. Her art is about her deep wish to bring to and generate in mankind a similar sense of joy that she received from connecting with the healing, nurturing source of this universal light.
Blessed be.
